“Pyro” by Earl Emerson

This is my latest read.  I am half way through it.  The author lives in North Bend and is a Lt. on the Seattle Fire Department.  I met him once at a mystery club meeting that we used to have at a small bookstore here in Redmond which has since gone out of business.  At the time he was thinking of stopping the fireman series which at that time were about a Fire Chief in a small town.  I begged him not to because I liked that series better than the private eye series.  At the time he also told us of problems with the Pang fire that may have helped cause the death of those firemen.  I have read several of his books and highly recommend them.  These new ones are about the Seattle Fire Department and some of the situations can be recognized from fairly recent events.  It is a work of fiction yet I suspect it is fairly close to the truth in some instances.  If nothing else, it gives you an inside look at how fire departments work and a bit of understanding on how to save yourself if ever in such an event.  I highly recommend this book and others by this author.
